Della Robbia medallion, Spedale degli Innocenti
One of the Andrea della Robbia medallions on the Spedale degli Innocenti. These date from 1487 and are perhaps his best known work. They are one of my favorite images of Florence. I love their simplicity and stark coloring, especially the way they interact with Brunelleschi's arches.
