McRae books to close soon

There is a war of attrition going in Florence on Via dei Neri. McRae books is going to close their doors sometime in October. This follows a decades old, high end women's clothing shop, a small bakery, the Latteria (really miss that place!), and others. In their place we have more ice cream, more tourist crap (to be blunt), and a couple of empty shops. Things are changing quickly, and unfortunately (if you are a resident as opposed to a tourist) not really for the better. The upside - if you are here in Florence, the books are on sale:

Anthony, is this the big two story book stores with English books upstairs?

No - this is the small shop on Via dei Neri. I think you are thinking about one of the larger Italian shops (Mel, or Feltrinelli) on Via dei Martelli or Cerretnai, with English books. This store was all English -
